NYE MUSEUM WELCOME CENTER STAFF – SATURDAY COVERAGE

At the Welcome Center, visitors can learn about the property, its features and history, experience the special exhibit, and browse the gift shop. Welcome Center Staff will open and close the museum and offer guidance to visitors. Welcome Center Staff provide front desk coverage and accept museum admissions and gift shop sales.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Comfortable interacting with the public
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to work between the hours of 11AM-4PM

Previous customer service experience preferred

Pay: $15/Hour

NYE MUSEUM DOCENT – SATURDAY COVERAGE

Nye Museum Docents provide tours of the 1678 Benjamin Nye Homestead Museum. Docents provide engaging tours to visitors from mid-June through mid-October. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are passionate about history and historic preservation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Interest in history and ability to memorize dates and facts
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting to the public
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to walk up and down a staircase

Pay: $15/Hour

NYE MUSEUM INTERN (VOLUNTEER)

Are you interested in learning more about working at a museum? Do old objects and stories excite you? Would you like to help plan programming for all ages? This multi-faceted opportunity will give you experience in both public and behind-the-scenes work. The intern will provide assistance in a variety of operations including research and writing, public programming, and event assistance.

Up to 20 hours per week. Hours Flexible between Tuesday-Friday. Some evening or weekend coverage may be needed.
