The Nye Museum in East Sandwich will celebrate its annual grand opening on Saturday, June 18, from noon to 4 PM.

Free tours of the 1678 Benjamin Nye House will be offered and a new special exhibit, “The Road to Revolution on Cape Cod,” which tells the local story of the lead-up to the American Revolution, will be unveiled.

The day’s festivities will feature the 10th Massachusetts Regiment, which will form a demonstration based on the 1775 militia.

This event is free and open to the public.

The Nye Museum will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 AM to 4 PM from June 18 to October 15.

This year, the museum will feature several new tours. In addition to guided tours of the 1678 Benjamin Nye House and self-guided tours of the special exhibit, 1858 Mill Museum, and Old Fish Hatchery Trail, the museum’s senior historian and curator will be offering specialized thematic tours each week focusing on the collections and property. Thematic tours will be available each Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 2 PM. Admission is $10.
