Based on Nye Museum’s 2021 special exhibit, this book tells the story of the everyday lives of Benjamin Nye and Katherine Tupper, who traveled to Massachusetts Bay Colony during the Great Migration in the 1630s, helped found the Town of Sandwich in 1637, and established the Nye Homestead and grist mill between 1669 and 1678. Chalk-full of pictures and descriptions of interesting artifacts, it tells Benjamin and Katherine’s story through the prism of architecture, industry, and material culture.
